Forward Handshake applications to Hirevire

Download the resumes of the Handshake applicants you want to screen, attach each one to a new email, and send it to the job's forwarding address. Forward any Handshake application emails that reach your inbox the same way.

Set up the job's forwarding address

  1. 1In Hirevire, open the job's Settings, go to the Forwarding Address tab, switch on Accept forwarded emails and click Save changes.
  2. 2Click Copy the email address.
  3. 3From your own inbox, forward each application email or a downloaded CV to that address, one candidate per email.
  4. 4Hirevire reads the candidate's name, email and phone from the email and CV, sends them the interview invite, and replies in your thread with a link to the application. When a CV is attached, the invite goes to the email address on the CV.

Don't point Handshake's automated notification emails at the forwarding address. Hirevire skips messages from noreply and other automated job board senders, so forward from your own inbox.

  1. 1In Hirevire, open the job and click Copy the link in the Share this link with candidates section.
  2. 2In the Application process section of the Handshake job form, choose On a separate website.
  3. 3Paste the Hirevire link and add a note such as Record a short video interview.

Questions about Hirevire and Handshake

Does Hirevire have a native Handshake integration?
No. You connect the two with the job's forwarding address: forward Handshake applications or downloaded CVs from your own inbox, and Hirevire sends each applicant your interview invite.
What if Handshake doesn't show the candidate's email address?
Attach or forward their CV. When a CV is attached, Hirevire uses the email address on the CV. If neither the email nor the CV has an address, Hirevire replies in your thread and asks for it. Reply with the address and the invite goes out.
Do candidates need a Hirevire account to record their answers?
No. Candidates open the link from their invite and record video, audio or text answers on their phone or laptop without creating an account.
Will a candidate who applies twice on Handshake get two invites?
No. If the candidate already exists on the job, Hirevire skips the forwarded email and tells you so in the reply.
