Paradox Interview Scheduling: How It Works With Workday and SAP

Yes, Paradox books interviews by itself. Its assistant, called Olivia by default, reads the hiring manager's calendar and texts the candidate a few open times. It books the one they pick and sends reminders. Paradox works with Workday and SAP SuccessFactors, so recruiters keep working in the system they already use.
Research: Paradox's CEO said the product would book 32 million interviews in 2025, about one in every ten interviews in the United States (Workday).
Short answer
| What you want to schedule | Can Paradox do it? | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| One-to-one interviews | Yes | The candidate picks a time by text, WhatsApp, chat or email |
| Panel interviews | Yes | It finds a time when every required interviewer is free |
| Several interviews in a row | Yes, with help | A recruiter has to send these by hand |
| Rescheduling and reminders | Yes | The assistant offers new times and reminds the candidate |
| Different time zones | Yes | Times show in the candidate's own time zone |
How does Paradox scheduling work, step by step?
Paradox scheduling works as one text conversation that ends with an interview on the manager's calendar. As an example, take a candidate applying for a cashier job.
- On Monday night she applies on her phone. The assistant replies straight away and asks a few basic questions, such as whether she can work weekends.
- She meets the requirements, so the assistant checks the store manager's calendar for free interview times.
- A text arrives with a few open times, shown in her own time zone.
- She replies with the time she wants, say Wednesday at 10am. The interview is booked.
- The manager sees the interview on the calendar on Tuesday morning without having done anything.
- She gets a reminder before the interview. If she needs to move it, the assistant sends her new times.

Check one setting on day one. Paradox can hold texts until the morning, but that option is off by default, so a candidate can get a scheduling text at 2am.
How much time does it save?
Paradox scheduling saves the back-and-forth of finding a time. Two customer results show the size of it.
Cielo, a recruitment outsourcing firm, says it used to take roughly 26 hours to get a candidate scheduled and now takes 18 minutes (Paradox). A candidate who is ready on Monday morning now has an interview booked before lunch. It used to be Tuesday.
Medtronic scheduled 6,000 interviews in three months using Paradox with Workday. That is about 2,000 interviews a month that no coordinator had to book by email.
Both results come from Paradox's own customers, so treat them as a best case.
Does it work with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, iCIMS and Oracle?
Paradox works best with Workday and SAP SuccessFactors, and it also connects to Oracle and iCIMS. These are the big HR systems (an HCM for all staff records, an ATS for applicants) where a company keeps its jobs and candidates.
| System | Works with Paradox? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Workday | Yes | Workday owns Paradox. The scheduling link is Workday Certified |
| SAP SuccessFactors | Yes | Confirmed partner page. Recruiters send texts from inside SuccessFactors |
| Oracle | Yes | Named by Paradox, with little public detail. Marriott and IHG use it with Oracle |
| iCIMS | Listed as a partner | Named by Paradox, with little public detail |

Workday finished buying Paradox in October 2025, so Workday customers get the closest fit. If you run Oracle or iCIMS, ask Paradox for a customer on your system that you can call before you sign. The list of companies that use Paradox AI shows which employers run it on each system.
Can it handle panel and back-to-back interviews?
Paradox can handle both, but back-to-back interviews need a recruiter to set them up. For a panel interview, the assistant checks every required interviewer's calendar and offers the candidate the times when all of them are free.
Back-to-back interviews (several in a row, or spread over a few days) are different. A recruiter sends them by hand, and if one interviewer has no free time, a person has to step in and fix it.
A store manager interviewing cashiers will never notice these limits. A four-person engineering interview day still needs a coordinator watching it.
What do recruiters say about it?
Recruiters rate Paradox 4.5 out of 5 from 94 reviews on G2. The main praise is that candidates book their own interviews by text or WhatsApp, and that it fits in with Workday without problems.
The main complaint is setup. One reviewer wrote that "this is not a tool you turn on in a day". G2's review data puts the typical setup at about two months.
What does it cost?
Paradox does not publish prices, and the only public figure is a starting price of about $1,000 a month (Capterra), or $12,000 a year. That buys an assistant that screens applicants by text and books their interviews, and the Paradox pricing guide covers what larger contracts cost.
What are the alternatives for interview scheduling?
The alternatives for interview scheduling are specialist scheduling tools, the scheduler inside your ATS, or a plain booking link. Hirevire is a screening tool, and its webhooks can trigger booking in any of these tools once a candidate passes screening.
| Tool | Best for | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| candidate.fyi | Panels and full interview days on Workday, Greenhouse or iCIMS | Quote only |
| ModernLoop | Tech teams that want interviews booked as candidates move stages | Quote only |
| GoodTime | Large companies with complex scheduling | Not published |
| Workable | Small and mid-size teams that want an ATS with self-scheduling built in | $299 a month |
| Calendly | One recruiter booking a handful of interviews | $10 a seat a month |
Paradox keeps one edge over all five: the candidate books by text inside the same chat that screened them. For chat and voice tools, see the Paradox AI alternatives list and the Paradox vs HireVue comparison.
Do you need to schedule first-round interviews at all?
You do not need to schedule a first round when it is a recorded screen, because it has no meeting to book. Candidates answer the same set of questions on their own time. Managers watch the answers when they are free. Only the shortlist gets a booked interview.
As an example, picture an agency recruiter with 60 applicants for an account manager role. At 20 minutes a call, 60 phone screens add up to 20 hours on the phone. With a recorded screen, those calls never go on the calendar.
This is where Hirevire fits. It is async screening: candidates record answers by video, audio or text in the browser, with no account or password. Every plan includes AI transcripts and scorecards. Plans start at $468 a year, with a 7-day free trial and no credit card.
Hirevire sits one step before the scheduled interview, next to Paradox or your ATS. Webhooks, Zapier and Make connect it to the tools you already run, so a candidate who passes screening can be booked in your calendar tool and updated in your ATS. For hourly roles at volume, skip the recorded step. A store manager who needs 40 cashiers by Friday is better served by Paradox texting applicants straight into an interview slot. The Paradox AI vs Hirevire page compares the two side by side.
Should you use Paradox scheduling, Hirevire, or both?
| Your situation | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You run Workday and hire hourly staff across many sites | Paradox | Workday owns it, and candidates book by text |
| You run SAP SuccessFactors and hire frontline staff at volume | Paradox | Recruiters can text candidates from inside SuccessFactors |
| You book panels and multi-day interviews for office roles | candidate.fyi or ModernLoop | Both are built for this. Paradox needs a recruiter to send these by hand |
| Your calendar is full of first-round phone screens | Hirevire | A recorded screen replaces the call, from $468 a year |
| Paradox books your interviews, and managers want to see candidates first | Paradox + Hirevire | Hirevire screens first. Paradox books the shortlist |
| You use Ashby, Tellent Recruitee or Manatal and want fewer live first rounds | ATS + Hirevire | Hirevire connects to all three. The ATS books later rounds |
| You are one recruiter booking a handful of interviews a month | Calendly | A booking link at $10 a seat a month covers it |
Hirevire's webhooks, Zapier and Make can pass screened candidates to Paradox, your ATS or your calendar tool, so the shortlist moves straight to a booked interview.

Frequently asked questions
How it works
Does Paradox AI schedule interviews automatically? Yes. Once a candidate meets the basic requirements, the assistant sends open times by text, WhatsApp, chat or email. It books the one the candidate picks. Back-to-back interviews are the exception and have to be sent by a recruiter.
Can candidates reschedule a Paradox interview themselves? Yes. The candidate or the manager can ask to reschedule, and the assistant sends new times.
Cost and alternatives
How much does Paradox scheduling cost? Paradox does not publish prices. Capterra lists a starting price of $1,000 a month, which is $12,000 a year.
Does Hirevire schedule interviews? Yes, through webhooks. Hirevire runs recorded video, audio and text screening, which replaces the first-round call, and its webhooks trigger booking in your calendar tool once a candidate passes. Live interviews can also be booked in your ATS, in Paradox or in a scheduling tool.
Can Hirevire and Paradox be used together? Yes, as two steps. Hirevire screens candidates first, and Paradox books the live interview with the shortlist. Hirevire's webhooks, Zapier and Make can pass screened candidates to Paradox for booking.
If first-round calls are what fills your calendar, try Hirevire free for 7 days. For the full picture on Paradox, read the Paradox AI review hub.
