Paradox AI Pricing 2026: What Olivia Costs Under Workday

Published on Updated on By Sanat Hegde10 min read
Bar chart showing Paradox costs at least $36,000 over three years, while Workable, Classet and three Hirevire plans cost $1,404 to $10,764 at published prices.

Paradox AI starts at about $1,000 a month (Capterra), which is $12,000 a year. Most contracts are custom quotes, and Paradox offers no free trial. The money pays for Olivia, an AI assistant that texts with candidates, asks screening questions and books interviews, so recruiters and managers spend less of the week on admin.

Research: Buyers who reviewed Paradox on G2 report an average discount of 12%, about 2 months to set up and 7 months to earn the cost back (G2).

What do you get for $1,000 a month?

Nobody publishes what the $1,000 entry plan includes, so the useful answer is what Paradox does for a recruiting team. You get Olivia, an AI assistant that talks to candidates by text, WhatsApp, web chat or email. Olivia does these jobs:

  • Answers candidate questions at any hour, in more than 100 languages
  • Asks basic screening questions and passes on the people who qualify
  • Reads managers' calendars and lets candidates pick an interview time by text
  • Sends reminders and offers new times when a candidate or manager has to move
  • Schedules hiring events as well as one-to-one interviews
  • Runs your career site and shares onboarding paperwork such as tax documents and background checks, if you buy those parts

Picture a candidate who applies at 11pm. Olivia replies, asks the screening questions and offers times from the manager's calendar. The manager starts the next shift with interviews already booked.

Two customer results show the size of the change. Cielo, a recruitment outsourcing firm, says scheduling time fell from about 26 hours to 18 minutes. Compass Group hires 160,000 workers a year with a recruiting team of 20. Both come from Paradox's own customer stories, so read them as best cases.

The price depends on which of these jobs you switch on. Paradox sells them as separate products, so a quote for scheduling alone and a quote for the full set are two different purchases.

Flow chart of the six jobs Olivia does for a recruiting team, from answering candidate questions to onboarding paperwork, with the price depending on which jobs are switched on.

How much does Paradox cost per year?

Paradox costs at least $12,000 a year, which is the $1,000 starting price times 12.

Other pricing sites put typical contracts at roughly $30,000 to $95,000 a year, plus $15,000 to $35,000 for setup in the first year. Paradox has not confirmed those figures, so treat them as a ballpark until you have a quote.

Ask for a discount as well. G2 reviewers report 12% off on average, which is $1,440 a year back on the $12,000 floor.

What makes a Paradox quote go up?

A Paradox quote goes up with hiring volume, the products you add and the systems Olivia has to connect to. Paradox publishes no formula, so this list comes from its product range and its reviewers.

  • How many people you hire, and across how many locations. One G2 reviewer wrote that the return "depends heavily on hiring volume".
  • How many people on your team use it. A Capterra reviewer called the pricing "per user" high.
  • Which products you add: the chat assistant, scheduling, the career site, hiring events, onboarding.
  • How many systems it connects to, such as your ATS (applicant tracking system), your HR system, calendars and background check providers.
  • How many languages and countries you hire in. Olivia handles more than 100 languages, so check that each one you need is in the quote.

What else will you pay for?

Beyond the subscription, plan for setup work, your own team's time and training.

  • Setup and integration work. Paradox staff set up single sign-on (one login for all your work tools) and the reminder messages. Ask whether that work is a separate fee.
  • Your team's time. G2 reviewers report about 2 months to implement, and one wrote that "implementation and configuration take real effort". Someone on your side has to own the project for those two months, with help from IT.
  • Training. Recruiters and hiring managers need time to learn a new way of booking interviews. Paradox does not say whether training is included, so ask.

Paradox has no free trial, so all of this happens after you sign.

Did Workday change the price?

Workday has not changed how Paradox is priced. Workday bought Paradox for about $1.1 billion (SEC filing) in October 2025, and pricing is still by quote. You can buy through Workday or through Paradox, so a Workday customer can ask both sales teams for a number.

How does that compare with tools that publish prices?

Over three years, Paradox costs at least $36,000, and the tools below cost $1,404 to $10,764 at their published prices.

ToolPublished priceThree-year costWhat it does
ParadoxFrom $1,000 a month$36,000 or moreTexts with candidates, screens, books interviews
Workable Standard$3,588 a year$10,764ATS with self-scheduled interviews, for up to 20 employees
Classet Starter$249 a month, billed yearly$8,964AI phone interviews, 50 a month
Hirevire Agency$2,388 a year$7,164Recorded video, audio and text screening
Hirevire Professional$1,188 a year$3,564Recorded video, audio and text screening
Hirevire Essentials$468 a year$1,404Recorded video, audio and text screening

Each of these tools does a smaller job than Paradox, so use the table as a budget check. None of them texts back and forth with candidates and books interviews across hundreds of locations.

Bar chart showing Paradox costs at least $36,000 over three years, while Workable, Classet and three Hirevire plans cost $1,404 to $10,764 at published prices.

Tools that do Paradox's full job mostly quote on request too. The Paradox alternatives guide compares them.

Is Paradox worth the price for a team like yours?

Paradox is worth the price when you hire hourly workers in volume and booking interviews eats your recruiters' week. Think of a store manager who needs 40 cashiers by Friday.

Volume decides it. At $12,000 a year, a company making 3,000 hires pays $4 a hire. A company making 30 hires pays $400 a hire, before any setup cost.

Buyers who fit rate it well: 4.5 out of 5 from 94 reviews on G2. The list of companies that use Paradox shows who those buyers are, and the interview scheduling guide explains the feature most of them pay for.

Hirevire does async screening: candidates record video, audio or text answers in their own time, in the browser, with no account or password. Every plan includes AI transcripts and scorecards. Webhooks, Zapier and Make connect it to the tools you already run, so a candidate who passes screening can be booked in your calendar tool and updated in your ATS.

Hirevire's webhooks, Zapier and Make can pass screened candidates to Paradox, your ATS or your calendar tool, so the shortlist moves straight to a booked interview.

Decision matrix showing Paradox fits high-volume hourly hiring and Workday customers, Hirevire fits small teams and agencies that need recorded screening, and the two can run together.

The Paradox vs Hirevire comparison sets the two side by side. Enterprises that need assessments should read Paradox vs HireVue, and the Paradox review hub covers what users say.

What should you ask Paradox before you sign?

Ask Paradox to split the quote into lines, so you can see what each part costs.

  1. What does each product cost on its own: the chat assistant, scheduling, the career site, events and onboarding?
  2. Is the price counted by users, locations, hires or candidate conversations?
  3. What is the setup fee, and what go-live date will you put in writing?
  4. What does each connection cost: the ATS or HR system, calendars and background checks?
  5. Are text and WhatsApp messages charged on top?
  6. How much can the price rise at renewal, and what is the discount for a three-year term?

If Workday is your HR system, ask Workday for a second quote and compare the two.
