HireVue MCP: Does It Exist? (And What to Use Instead)

Does HireVue have an MCP server? No native server found in August 2026. What exists instead: a Workday partnership, a partner programme and API, and the Hireguide acquisition.

No. As of August 2026 there is no MCP server from HireVue and no maintained community server either. We checked HireVue's product pages, developer and integration documentation, its press releases for the past twelve months, and GitHub. Connecting HireVue data to Claude or ChatGPT is an API integration project today, not a URL you paste into a connector setting.

Does HireVue have an MCP server? No native server found in August 2026. What exists instead: the Workday Agent Partner Network from January 2026, a certified integration partner programme and REST API, and the March 2026 Hireguide acquisition.
HireVue has invested heavily in AI agents. None of that investment is an MCP server you can connect to.

One clarification first, because the search results mix them up constantly: HireVue and Hirevire are two different companies. HireVue is the enterprise assessment and video interviewing platform this page is about. Hirevire is the video screening tool that publishes this blog, and it does run an MCP server. If you landed here looking for the second one, the feature page is the fastest route.

What HireVue built instead

HireVue is not sitting out the agent wave. It has just pointed its work somewhere other than an open protocol.

A Workday partnership, January 2026

HireVue joined the Workday Agent Partner Network, and the HireVue Talent Engagement Agent now connects to Workday's Agent System of Record. For a Workday customer that is a real integration with validated assessments and adaptive candidate conversations inside an environment they already run. For everyone else it is not reachable, and it is not MCP.

The Hireguide acquisition, March 2026

HireVue acquired the technology behind Hireguide, a company building agentic AI for hiring, and folded the team into its product organisation to ship conversational agents of its own. That work makes HireVue's own product more agentic. It does not open HireVue's data to your agent.

A partner programme and a REST API

HireVue runs a certified integration partner programme and publishes APIs. Both are built for an engineering team with a project plan, not for a recruiter who wants their assistant to read this morning's interview results. If your company has the engineers, this is the honest route: build the integration, then wrap it in an MCP server you host yourself.

The pattern is consistent. HireVue is building agents into its own product and into one large partner's ecosystem, and not building a door that your agent walks through.

The workflow people are actually searching for

Almost nobody searches "hirevue mcp" because they want to read a protocol specification. They want a specific thing: their screening results reachable from the AI assistant they already have open.

That workflow looks like this. You are hiring 30 warehouse pickers and 400 people apply. You want to ask your assistant to pull everyone who scored above 7, read two of their answers properly, shortlist the top 20, and get on with the day, without opening a dashboard or exporting anything.

That is an unremarkable thing to want, and whether it is possible comes down to one question: does the tool holding the answers speak MCP?

Table comparing the HireVue route and a native MCP route across time to connect, who does the work, authentication, what the agent reads and writes, and read-only mode.
Both routes reach the same end state. One of them needs an engineer and a quarter.

The same loop on a native MCP

Where the screening tool runs its own server, the setup is a settings page rather than a project. In Hirevire you copy the MCP server URL from My Account, Integrations, paste it into Claude or ChatGPT, sign in, pick the organisation, and choose read only or read and write. Five minutes, done by the recruiter.

After that the loop runs in the chat window you already had open:

Four steps of a screening round run from a chat window: post the role, answers arrive on candidates' phones, pull everyone above a score, then shortlist the top twenty.
Four prompts, one conversation. The reading of the two shortlisted answers is still yours.

Two details are worth naming because they are what a security review asks about. Sign-in is per user over OAuth, so the agent inherits the permissions of the person who connected it instead of carrying a shared account-wide key. And read-only is a choice at connection time, so a team that does not want an agent writing anything can still let it answer questions.

The part that should stay human does. The agent surfaces who cleared the bar. You listen to the two people you are unsure about and decide which one gets the call.

Frequently asked questions

Does HireVue have an MCP server?

No. We found no server from HireVue and no maintained community server in August 2026. HireVue's agent work runs through its own product and through the Workday Agent Partner Network instead.

Can I connect HireVue to Claude?

Only by building it. HireVue publishes APIs and runs a certified integration partner programme, so an engineering team can build an integration and wrap it in an MCP server they host themselves. There is no supported connector.

Is HireVue the same company as Hirevire?

No. HireVue is an enterprise assessment and video interviewing platform. Hirevire is a video screening tool and it runs a native MCP server. The names are close enough that search results mix them up routinely.

What is the HireVue Talent Engagement Agent?

An agent HireVue announced in January 2026 that connects to Workday's Agent System of Record as part of the Workday Agent Partner Network. It is useful if you run Workday, and it does not use MCP.

Which video interview platforms have MCP servers?

Of the five we track, Hirevire is the only one running its own. Spark Hire and Willo are reachable through Zapier's gateway for a small set of actions, and HireVue and VidCruiter have no MCP path we could find.

Will HireVue ship one?

Unknown, and nothing in its public roadmap or press releases points to it. HireVue has invested in agents inside its own platform and in the Workday ecosystem, which is a different bet from an open protocol.

The short version

There is no HireVue MCP server. There is a Workday partnership that helps Workday customers, an acquisition that improves HireVue's own agents, and an API that helps teams with engineers to spare.

If what you wanted was your screening results answerable from a chat window this week, the practical move is to run screening on a tool that speaks MCP already. Hirevire's MCP server connects in about five minutes with per-user sign-in and an optional read-only mode. For the wider picture of which HR tools run servers, our monthly MCP table tracks 22 of them, and our HireVue review covers the platform itself.
