8 Hireflix Alternatives, Ranked by Published Price

Published on By Sanat Hegde27 min read
Bar chart of yearly cost at published prices: Hirevire $468, Truffle $588, Willo Lite $708, Hireflix Small $900, Hireflix Medium $1,800, Interviewer.AI $1,990, Spark Hire $2,988, VidCruiter from $5,000 as listed on Capterra, and Jobma quote only.

The lowest-priced Hireflix alternative is Hirevire at $468 a year, with a 7-day free trial and no credit card. That pays for one open job and 300 recorded interviews a year, about 25 candidates a month, and saves $432 (48%) against Hireflix's $900 plan for companies under 50 employees. Hireflix stays cheaper in one common case: a small company that keeps two to five roles open all year pays $900 at Hireflix and $1,188 on Hirevire Professional. Hireflix also gives every plan unlimited responses, so a team screening hundreds of people a month gets more interviews for the money there. Five of the eight tools below publish a price, and those five are ranked by price, lowest first.

How this list was built: these are eight interview tools a Hireflix customer could move to. Prices come from each vendor's pricing page and ratings from G2, both checked in October 2026.

Research: Hireflix is rated 5.0 out of 5 from 442 reviews on G2 and 5.0 from 261 reviews on Capterra, the highest scores of any one-way interview tool on either site.

What is Hireflix, and what does it cost today?

Hireflix is one-way video interview software from Barcelona, founded in 2018. You build an interview once, with questions written as text or recorded as video, and send the link to as many candidates as you want. Candidates record their answers on any device, with no app and no login, and your team watches, rates and comments on them later. Hireflix says on its own homepage that it does one thing only, and leaves live interviews, assessments and scheduling to other tools.

The price depends on the size of your company, and every plan includes every feature with unlimited users, positions and interview responses.

PlanWho it is forBilled yearlyPaid monthly
SmallCompanies under 50 employees$75 a month ($900 a year)$150 a month
MediumCompanies with 50 to 250 employees$150 a month ($1,800 a year)$300 a month
CustomCorporates, high-volume hiring and recruitment agenciesQuoteQuote

The first month is free, with no credit card. NGOs and companies started in the last two years get 20% off the first year, which brings the Small plan to $720. Onboarding and a live demo are included at no extra cost.

So $900 a year buys a small company unlimited one-way interviews for every role it opens, for every person on the team. A customer quoted on the Hireflix pricing page says they run more than 4,000 interviews a month on it.

Why do teams look for a Hireflix alternative?

Hireflix has almost no unhappy reviewers, so people rarely leave it out of frustration. They look around for four practical reasons.

  1. The price is set by headcount. A company with 60 employees and one open role pays $1,800 a year, the same as a company of 240 hiring for twenty roles. A team that hires once or twice a year pays for capacity it never uses.
  2. Monthly billing costs double. The Small plan is $150 a month without a yearly contract, so a three-month hiring push costs $450.
  3. Candidates answer on video. Hireflix questions can be text or video, and the answers are recorded on camera. Some roles need a written answer, a voice answer, a file or a screen recording.
  4. It stops at the interview. Hireflix collects and shares answers, and leaves scoring, assessments and anything after the shortlist to other tools. A team that wants AI to score each answer, or tests in the same step, needs a second product.

What do Hireflix users complain about?

Hireflix is rated 5.0 out of 5 from 442 reviews on G2 and 5.0 from 261 reviews on Capterra, where every review sentiment is positive and 251 of the 261 reviews give five stars. Most written "cons" say there is nothing to dislike. The complaints that do appear fall into seven groups.

  1. Candidates who freeze on camera. A 2020 reviewer said being forced to record a video for every question does not suit people who are less confident on camera. A 2021 reviewer said the format is hard for introverts, and a November 2025 reviewer at an engineering firm said some good candidates are nervous on video and do not show their best side.
  2. No other answer types. A 2022 reviewer wanted audio interviews, and a 2020 reviewer wanted candidates to be able to attach documents. Another 2020 reviewer said it suits general roles better than technical ones, where you want a test sent with the interview.
  3. Invites in junk folders. A March 2026 reviewer said some candidates found the invite in their junk mail, and a 2020 reviewer had the same problem with Hotmail addresses.
  4. Indeed applicants. A March 2026 reviewer said the public interview link does not work for candidates from Indeed, so each one has to be emailed the request directly.
  5. Talking to candidates. Reviewers in 2021 and 2022 asked for messaging inside the app, and a 2020 reviewer wanted to send feedback to candidates after watching their interviews.
  6. AI and deeper connections. An August 2025 reviewer wanted deeper connections to the major ATS platforms and AI features, and a November 2025 reviewer wanted more branding options and connections to smaller ATS tools.
  7. Notes, transcripts and reporting. A 2022 reviewer wanted evaluation notes for each question, a January 2024 reviewer wanted to download full transcripts, and a November 2025 reviewer wanted more reporting.

How do the alternatives solve these problems?

Each complaint has a tool that answers it.

Two tools on the list also cost less than Hireflix Small. Truffle Starter saves $312 (35%) and Willo Lite, for one role open all year, saves $192 (21%).

VideoAsk costs less than all of them, from $24 a month billed yearly ($288 a year). It is a general video form tool priced by minutes recorded, with 1,200 minutes a year on that plan, so it suits light hiring with short answers. It is left out of the ranking because it is built for video forms of every kind.

1. Hirevire

Hirevire is async screening software: you write the questions once, and candidates record video, audio or text answers in their own time. They answer in the browser with no account or password. A question set takes minutes to build, AI can write the questions for you, and you can record an intro video so candidates see who they are talking to.

The answer types are the main difference from Hireflix. A candidate who is nervous on camera can answer by voice or in writing, a designer can upload a portfolio, and a developer can share their screen and walk you through code. You can ask a follow-up question after watching an answer, without booking a call.

Every plan includes AI transcripts in 90+ languages and AI scorecards that score each answer against the criteria you set and show the reasoning. Applicants who miss a must-have requirement are filtered out before they record, and they do not count against your interview limit. Invites and reminders go out by email and SMS on every plan, and you can invite a candidate by forwarding their application email or CV. The Professional and Agency plans send email from your own mail server, add a custom domain and a career page, and let you share answers with a hiring manager in one link. On the Agency plan, Deep Search finds a candidate by anything they said, and webhooks send each response to any system you run.

A team that screens more than 1,000 candidates a month, or a company under 50 employees with many roles open all year, gets more for its money from Hireflix's unlimited plan. A side-by-side sits on the Hireflix vs Hirevire page.

2. Truffle

Truffle screens resumes, runs talent assessments and collects recorded interview answers, then gives each candidate an AI match score, a summary and what it calls Candidate Shorts. You pay with credits: a resume costs 1 credit, an assessed candidate 2 and a video interview 5. All three of its talent assessments are included.

It suits a Hireflix customer who wants tests in the same step as the interview. Every plan has unlimited positions and team members, and a 7-day free trial with 30 credits and no card. Starter is billed monthly only and stops at its credit limit, so there is no surprise bill. On Core, unused credits roll over for 12 months.

Best forTeams that want resume screening, assessments and interviews counted in one pool
Watch out forInterviews use 5 credits each, so 100 interviews a month use 500 credits, which needs the Core plan. Hireflix has no such limit

3. Willo

Willo is a one-way interview tool where candidates answer with video, audio, text, multiple choice or file uploads. You pay for each live role each month, with no contract, so a role that is open for two months costs $118. That suits a company that hires a few times a year and pays Hireflix for months with nothing open.

Lite covers up to 5 live roles and 5 users, with 150 assessed candidates per role, custom scorecards, follow-up questions, anti-cheat checks and 18+ languages. ID checks and right-to-work checks are add-ons. Enterprise starts at $3,799 a year and adds connections to Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, Greenhouse and iCIMS. Non-profits get 50% off.

The Professional plan adds AI summaries and transcripts, interview fraud checks and a conversational AI avatar that asks follow-up questions.

It is the step up for a Hireflix customer who wants live interviews in the same tool: the annual video plan has unlimited one-way and live interviews, unlimited jobs and unlimited users.

Its AI scores recorded answers against a rubric and flags candidate fraud.

It fits a Hireflix customer that has grown into a regulated employer and must show that every candidate got the same questions and rubric. Capterra lists a starting price of $5,000 a year. Read the VidCruiter alternatives guide for its full pricing picture.

It runs one-way, live and panel interviews, an AI interviewer that asks its own follow-up questions, skill and coding tests, and candidate fraud checks such as ID and selfie matching. Candidates can answer in 16 languages.

How do you switch from Hireflix to Hirevire?

Switching takes four steps.

  1. Check when your Hireflix plan renews, and copy each position's questions, thinking times, answer times and retake limits. Download the interview videos and CSV exports you must keep before the plan ends.
  2. Create the same job in Hirevire and add those questions. A question set takes minutes to build, and each question can ask for video, audio, text, a file or a screen recording, with its own thinking time and retake setting. Write what you rate candidates on into the AI scorecard criteria, so every answer is scored against the same standard.
  3. Share the new link with candidates. They record in the browser, with no account and no password. For a list of people already in your pipeline, upload a CSV and Hirevire sends the invites by email and SMS, with automatic reminders.
  4. Connect the tools you already use. Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect, Ashby, Tellent Recruitee and Manatal work on every plan, so a candidate who passes the screen can be booked in your calendar tool and updated in your ATS.

A team that ran Hireflix inside Greenhouse, Lever, Workable or another ATS can send screened candidates to it through Zapier and Make where the ATS has a connector, or through webhooks on the Agency plan.

Applicants from Indeed, Naukri, Monster, Shine.com, foundit and ZipRecruiter get your video interview invite when you add your Hirevire link to the posting or forward their application email. For a question about your own setup, write to [email protected].

What should you check before leaving Hireflix?

Check five things before you move.

  1. How many candidates you screen each month. Hireflix is unlimited on every plan. Hirevire covers 25, 100 or 1,000 interviews a month depending on the plan, and applicants filtered out by your must-have questions do not count. Above 1,000 a month, stay with Hireflix or ask about its custom plan.
  2. How many roles you keep open, and for how long. A company under 50 employees with several roles open all year pays less at Hireflix. A company with one role open, or one that hires in bursts, pays less on Hirevire or Willo.
  3. Whether your candidates need another way to answer. If nervous candidates, writers, designers or developers are dropping out or underselling themselves on camera, pick a tool with audio, text, file or screen recording answers.
  4. Whether you want AI to score answers. Hireflix transcribes answers and leaves scoring to your team. Hirevire scores every answer against your criteria on every plan, and Interviewer.AI and Truffle score too.
  5. Which systems must stay connected. List your ATS and the automations you run through Zapier or Make, then check each alternative's plan for them.

When is Hireflix still the right choice?

Hireflix is still the right choice in four cases.

  • You are under 50 employees and keep two or more roles open most of the year. $900 covers all of them, with every user on the team.
  • You screen more than 1,000 candidates a month. A customer on its pricing page runs more than 4,000 interviews a month, and the plan price does not move.
  • You want a native connector to Greenhouse, Lever, BambooHR, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Teamtailor or JazzHR on the lowest plan.
  • You need single sign-on, audit logs and automatic video deletion on a small-company budget.
