I forgot to start the recording, can I try again?
If you missed pressing the record button or made a mistake in your video or audio response, you may be able to re-record—but it depends on the settings the employer chose for this job application.
Check for a Retake Button
After you complete a recording question, look at the bottom of the screen. If the employer enabled retakes, you'll see a Retake button that shows how many attempts you have left, like "Retake (2)".
The Retake button appears right after you finish recording, between the Back and Next buttons.
Click the Retake button to record your response again. You can keep re-recording until you run out of attempts or you're satisfied with your answer.
If You Don't See a Retake Button
If the Retake button isn't visible or shows "Retakes are disabled for this question," the employer has disabled retakes for this question. This happens when:
The employer set a thinking time limit for the question
You've used all your allowed retake attempts
You've already submitted your full application
In this case, complete the rest of your application and submit it. Then contact the hiring manager directly to explain what happened. Most employers will understand technical issues or honest mistakes and may be able to send you a new application link or review your situation individually.
Look for contact information in the job posting or the email that sent you the application link. If you can't find it, check the company's careers page.
If You Haven't Submitted Yet
If you're still working on your application and haven't clicked the final Submit button, your progress is saved automatically. You can navigate back to previous questions if retakes are available, or you can reach out to the employer before submitting to ask for guidance.
Once you submit your application, you cannot go back to modify any answers—including re-recording video or audio responses.
