I missed my recording or want to record again
If you forgot to press record, ran out of time, or want to redo your video response, your options depend on how the recruiter configured the job application.
Check if retakes are available
Before you submit your application, look at the record button for each video or audio question. If retakes are enabled, you'll see text like "Retake (2)" showing how many attempts remain. Click it to record again.
Once you submit your full application, retakes are no longer available—even if the job allows them.
Some questions disable retakes entirely. You'll see "Retakes are disabled for this question" if the recruiter set a countdown timer for thinking time. In this case, the recording starts automatically after the countdown ends.

If you've already submitted
After submission, you cannot re-record or edit your responses. If you need to submit a new video or explain what happened, contact the recruiter directly using the email address from their job posting or invitation.
Use this template:
Subject: Request to resubmit video response for [Job Title]
Hi [Recruiter Name],
I recently completed the application for [Job Title] but realized I didn't record my response to [question name/number] or would like to redo my recording.
I've attached a video file with my updated response, or I'm happy to resubmit the entire application if you can reset my access.
Please let me know how you'd like me to proceed.
Thank you,
[Your Name]The recruiter can reset your application link if needed, allowing you to start fresh. They'll receive a notification about your new submission.
Tips to avoid missing recordings
Test your camera and microphone before starting—Hirevire runs an audio/video check at the beginning
Watch for the red recording indicator or countdown timer on screen
Review each response before moving to the next question if retakes are available
Don't close the browser tab until you see the final "Application submitted" confirmation
