Connect ChatGPT to Hirevire via MCP
Updated today
Connect ChatGPT to your Hirevire account through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) so ChatGPT can list jobs, review applications with scores and transcripts, move candidates between stages, and check your plan usage when you ask in plain language.
Before you start
You use ChatGPT on the web. Custom MCP servers are not supported in the ChatGPT mobile apps.
Your ChatGPT plan allows custom MCP connections: full MCP support is available on Business and Enterprise/Edu, and Pro accounts can connect with read/fetch permissions.
In a Business or Enterprise/Edu workspace, only admins and owners can create and publish custom MCP plugins. Enterprise/Edu admins can grant selected members the Create plugins with MCPs permission.
You have an active Hirevire account.
Step 1: Copy your Hirevire MCP server URL
Go to My Account and open Integrations.
In the MCP Integration section, copy the MCP Server URL:
https://app.hirevire.com/api/mcp
Step 2: Add Hirevire as a custom MCP server
Open ChatGPT on the web and go to Plugins.
Select the plus button, then select Add custom MCP server. You do not need to turn on Developer Mode first.
Enter a name, such as Hirevire, and an optional description.
Under Connection, paste the Hirevire server URL.
Step 3: Authorize the connection
ChatGPT connects to Hirevire over OAuth. On the Hirevire consent screen you choose what the agent can access.
Set the connection's authentication to OAuth.
Sign in with your Hirevire credentials when prompted.
On the authorize screen, choose the organisation (if you belong to more than one) and the Access level: Read only or Read & write.
Expand Show detailed permissions to review each action, then authorize the connection.
Hirevire confirms the connection with a Connected screen. Write tools are available only when you grant Read & write.
Step 4: Create and install the plugin
Select the I understand and want to continue checkbox.
Select Create as a plugin.
Install the plugin in ChatGPT.
Use Hirevire in a chat
Start a new conversation, type @ in the prompt box, and select the Hirevire plugin. Then ask ChatGPT to work with your Hirevire data in plain language. For example:
List my active jobs
Show the interview questions for a job
List candidates for a job and include scores
Summarize a candidate's transcript and scorecard
Move a candidate to Shortlisted and send the stage email
Pause or close a job
Check my plan usage and how many active jobs I have left
ChatGPT may ask you to confirm before it performs a write action, such as moving a candidate or changing a job's status. Deep research runs can use Hirevire for read actions only, not write actions.
On ChatGPT Pro the connection supports read and fetch actions only. Reviewing jobs and applications works, but write actions such as moving candidates between stages are not available.
Revoke access
To disconnect ChatGPT, go to My Account > Integrations, open Connected Clients under MCP Integration, and disconnect the client.
