English language support overview
Hirevire provides a localized experience for candidates worldwide. English is the default language for all candidate-facing application pages, serving as the baseline experience for your application process. While the recruiter admin panel remains in English, you can fully control the candidate-facing application language to serve talent from any region.
The recruiter dashboard, job settings, and analytics are available in English only.
Candidate-facing English localization
When English is set as the job language (the default), the entire candidate journey uses English throughout. This includes the following elements:
Application Forms: Labels and placeholders (e.g., "Name," "Email").
Interview Controls: Buttons for recording, stopping, and replaying video/audio responses.
Instructions & Modals: Camera and microphone permission prompts and setup instructions.
System Messages: Error validations and submission confirmation screens.
Setting English as the default job language
English is the default language for new jobs. You can set or confirm the language preference on a per-job basis:
Navigate to the Jobs tab in your dashboard.
Click Edit on an existing job or select Add Job.
Scroll down to the Language dropdown menu.
Select English from the list (this is typically the default selection).
Click Save to apply the changes to the candidate application page.
To localize your entire careers page, go to Profile > Careers Page > Customize and update the language setting there.
Managing bilingual workflows
Many recruiters support candidates in multiple languages (for example, English alongside another language). Since the system does not auto-translate your custom text, follow these best practices:
Manual Question Translation: Write your screening questions in both languages (e.g., "Tell us about yourself / Parlez-nous de vous").
Email Templates: Candidate notifications (invites and reminders) use the job's default language. You can manually update these templates in your job settings email templates to include translations.
Candidate Language Picker: If a candidate prefers a different language, they can manually toggle between available options using the language picker located in the footer of the application page.
Privacy and GDPR compliance
Localization in Hirevire is built with GDPR compliance in mind. When English is the selected language, candidate-facing legal links—such as the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use—remain accessible in the footer. All candidate data, including video responses and AI-generated transcripts, is protected with bank-level encryption regardless of the interface language.
AI transcripts for English interviews are enabled by default and provide the highest accuracy. English transcripts require no additional language configuration in your job settings.
