How to Upgrade Your Plan

If you've hit a plan limit—whether active jobs, monthly applications, or team members—you can upgrade instantly from your billing page. This article explains each limit type and walks you through upgrading.

When Do You Need to Upgrade?

Hirevire plans include limits on active jobs, monthly, quarterly, or annual candidate responses, and team member seats. You may need to upgrade if:

  • Active job limit reached: You see the message "You have reached the limit of active jobs. Please upgrade to add more." Essentials allows 1 active job, Professional allows 5, Agency allows 20.

  • Application limit reached: You've used all your candidate responses for the billing period. Essentials includes 25 monthly or 75 quarterly or 300 annual responses, Professional includes 100 monthly or 300 quarterly or 1,200 annual, Agency includes 1,000 monthly or 3,000 quarterly or 12,000 annual.

  • User limit reached: You need to add more team members. Essentials allows 1 user, Professional allows 5 users, Agency allows 15 users.

  • Need more organizations: You manage multiple companies or brands. Agency includes 5 organizations by default; additional organizations are available as an add-on for $29/month.

What Happens When You Hit Your Application Limit

When you reach your plan's application limit, Hirevire automatically provides a 10% grace buffer to continue collecting applications. Once that buffer is exhausted:

  • The job automatically pauses

  • Candidates cannot submit new applications until you take action

You can either upgrade your plan or wait for your next billing cycle when your response allowance resets.

Quarterly and yearly billing plans use longer-term response allowances instead of monthly caps, giving you more flexibility to handle busy hiring periods. Quarterly plans give you a 3-month pool, yearly plans give you your full annual allowance upfront.

How to Upgrade Your Plan

You can upgrade at any time from the billing page. Changes take effect immediately.

  1. Go to your billing settings. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select My accountBilling tab. Or navigate directly to app.hirevire.com/profile?tab=billing.

  2. Click "Manage Subscription." This button shows your current plan and available upgrade options.

  3. Select your new plan. Choose Essentials, Professional, or Agency based on your needs. You'll see pricing for each billing cycle—monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

  4. Confirm your payment. Your payment method on file will be charged the prorated difference.

After upgrading, your new limits apply immediately. You can continue collecting applications, creating jobs, or adding team members right away.

Only organization owners and Billing Admins can manage subscription settings. If you don't see the billing options, ask your account owner or check your role permissions.

Switching Billing Cycles to Manage Response Limits

If you're hitting your monthly response limit but don't need a higher plan tier, switching from monthly to quarterly or yearly billing can give you more flexibility with your interview allowance.

How billing cycles affect your response limit:

  • Monthly billing: You get a set number of responses per month (e.g., Essentials = 25 responses/month). Unused responses don't roll over.

  • Quarterly billing: You get a larger pool of responses over 3 months with 10% savings compared to monthly (e.g., Essentials = 75 responses per quarter). This helps smooth out busy and slow hiring periods.

  • Yearly billing: You get your full annual response allowance upfront (e.g., Essentials = 300 responses for the year) at up to 33% savings. Use them whenever you need them—no monthly reset.

Example: On Essentials monthly, you get 25 responses per month. If you hire heavily one month and lightly the next, you can't carry over unused responses. On Essentials yearly, you get all 300 responses at once—so a busy hiring month doesn't create artificial limits.

You can switch billing cycles directly from your billing page. Go to Profile → My account → Billing → Manage Subscription to see available options. If you encounter any issues, email [email protected] and our team will help you make the transition.

Alternative: Archive Jobs to Free Up Slots

If you've hit your active job limit but don't need all your current jobs live simultaneously, you can archive completed positions instead of upgrading:

  1. Go to Jobs and select the job you want to archive.

  2. Click Archive to deactivate the posting.

  3. The archived job no longer counts toward your active job limit, freeing a slot for a new position.

All candidate responses and videos are preserved when you archive. You can unarchive anytime to reopen the job.

Alternative: Pause Instead of Cancel

If you're between hiring cycles but want to keep your setup intact, you can pause your subscription for up to 3 months instead of downgrading. Billing stops immediately during the pause period. Learn how to pause your subscription.
