Italian language support overview
Hirevire allows you to provide a localized experience for your candidates. While the recruiter admin panel remains in English, you can fully translate the candidate-facing application process into Italian to better serve global talent and candidates in Italy, Switzerland, and Italian-speaking communities.
The recruiter dashboard, job settings, and analytics are currently available in English only.
Candidate-facing Italian localization
When you enable Italian for a job, the entire candidate journey is automatically translated. This includes the following elements:
Application Forms: Labels and placeholders (e.g., "Nome," "Indirizzo email").
Interview Controls: Buttons for recording, stopping, and replaying video/audio responses.
Instructions & Modals: Camera and microphone permission prompts and setup instructions.
System Messages: Error validations and submission confirmation screens.
How to enable Italian for a job
You can set the language preference on a per-job basis. This is ideal for companies hiring for specific roles in Italian-speaking regions.
Navigate to the Jobs tab in your dashboard.
Click Edit on an existing job or select Add Job.
Scroll down to the Language dropdown menu.
Select Italian from the list.
Click Save to apply the changes to the candidate application page.
To localize your entire careers page, go to Profile > Careers Page > Customize and update the language setting there.
Managing bilingual workflows
Many recruiters prefer a bilingual approach (English and Italian) to accommodate a wider pool of candidates. Since the system does not auto-translate your custom text, follow these best practices:
Manual Question Translation: Write your screening questions in both languages (e.g., "Tell us about yourself / Parla di sé").
Email Templates: Candidate notifications (invites and reminders) default to English. You can manually update these templates in your job settings to include Italian translations.
Candidate Language Picker: If a candidate prefers a different language, they can manually toggle between available options using the language picker located in the footer of the candidate application page. You can also send candidates directly to a specific language using URL parameters.
Privacy and GDPR for EU candidates
Localization in Hirevire is built with GDPR compliance in mind. When Italian is enabled, candidate-facing legal links—such as the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use—remain accessible in the footer. All candidate data, including video responses and AI-generated transcripts, is protected with bank-level encryption regardless of the interface language.
AI transcripts for Italian interviews are supported but may require you to set the "Transcription Language" to Italian within the job's AI settings to ensure the highest accuracy. For more details, see AI Credit Consumption for Candidate Responses.
